We took the train for half an hour to get to Osaka. We arrived quite early so we dumped our bags and went for a stroll around the shops. We saw a couple of nice food places and even a candy store. We went into a clothes shop called Uniqlo and had a look for some light weight shorts. I got a pare of green ones which were really nice and mummy bought the same pare for herself! We also went to a shopping centre where we went to a Nintendo shop! I was super excited and it looked super cool. There was splatoon, Mario, Zelda and animal crossing! I think the biggest section was for splatoon because it was giant. There was loads of plushies, notebooks and load of other stuff. We even got to play some Mario kart whilst we were there. Because we can’t carry to much stuff around we had to get small things. I got a small splatoon squid teddy, a Mario flannel, cards and pencils. Our trip to the Nintendo shop was a success. For lunch we went to a food court and I got tempura (meat, vegetables or fish in a light batter) which was really good. After lunch our room was ready so we unpacked there. We had bunk beds again but I was on top this time. We chilled out for a bit and then went out for the night. We were going on a little boat ride round the city for half an hour. The bota ride was very random but cool. At the side of the water there was a neat row of lanterns which were very pretty in the dark. The boat ride was in Japanese so we didn’t listen. There were a couple of cool statues on top of buildings and it looked very pretty all lighted up. After the boat ride, we wen to shake shack and had burgers. They were really good. Then we went home. If I didn’t mention, our television was a giant projector. Then we went to bed.
The next day we got up really early and got on the train. We went on the bullet train for about an hour and a half and arrived in Hiroshima. We got the tram for a bit and got to the peace museum. This museum was about when the U.S.A dropped an atomic bomb on Japan. They did this when the world war was just coming to an end, it was because Japan wouldn’t stop fighting and they figured if they dropped a bomb, people would die and they would surrender. An atomic bomb is a giant bomb that has radioactive waves coming out of it. If you were 3 kilometres or less close to it, the lava burns through your skin. It killed roughly 35,000 people. It was quite and intense museum and some of the pictures I just walked past. They had peoples clothes and items from where they bomb had damage it. They also had some peoples diary entry’s front the bomb and they were very interesting to read. It was quite a sad museum but I was glad I did it. After the museum we all needed some sugar to cheer us up so we went to a coffee shop. I got a melon cake which was so good. We walked over to a port for boats because we were getting on a boat to a little island. Open the way we saw a building which hadn’t been changed from the bomb. It was awful to see how it used to look like versus how it does now. We were on the boat for about forty minutes. When we got off we went to another shrine. This was a really cool shrine though because it was on water! There was also a gateway in the water nearby and apparently if the water is low you can’t walk up to it. Unfortunately, today it was raining a lot so we couldn’t walk up to it. The shrine had a service going on in one part of the shrine and it was really cool to see how they do services in japan. We walked along the side of the water for a bit and then we looked for some lunch. We found a place which had this one dish that we were interested in so we went there. It was like noodles with a brown sauce and egg. Whatever it was it was one of the best things I had ever eaten. We walked around the island for a bit and then headed home. It took about three hours to get home with all the buses and trains and everything thing. On the way home, mum and dad said we could use a vending At home we made tuna mayo sandwiches for dinner and they were really good. We used the projector and watched “Clifford the big red dog” and it was a great movie. Then we went to bed.
Then next was our last day in japan so I was going to make it count. We got the train to Nara park. This park was one of the biggest parks I had ever seen. One of the most popular things about this park is the deer. There are over 1,000 deer in the park and they just wonder around! Lots of people (and us) buy deer biscuits which you can feed to them! You can pet them, feed them and and even make them bow! We bought a big packet of biscuits and I loved feeding them to the deer. Before you gave the deer a biscuit you bowed and the deer would bow back! You had to be careful that the deer didn’t bump into you or run into you. The deer were very pretty and I loved them. We walked around the park a bit and saw a couple of cool buildings. We stopped for a drink at a cafe and I got orange juice. We also saw some of the deer in the water trying to dry off. We went to the last shrine that we’ll go to in japan. We payed and walked through into the shrine. First there was a giant gate/building and looked really cool and was entirely made out of wood. Then we went to the biggest wooden building in the world! There was a absolutely massive Buddha in the building. It was roughly ten times the size of me. There was this little test thing too. It was a hole in the middle of a wooden pole. It was the same size at the Buddhas nostril and if you could fit through it it means that you would live a long life. When I went through the hole it was smaller than I thought it would be but I did make it through. It was really cool. We had a look around for lunch because it was afternoon already. We found a pizza place and had pizza for lunch, it was really good. We got the train back to our house. We chilled out for the afternoon. I am really looking forward to our last dinner in Osaka.
