Today we flew to panama. Since our Flight was at 2:54pm we had lunch at johnny rockets which is an equivalent of Burger King. On the plane they had trey tables but also a thing that folded down and held your phones and bottle. Once we had touched down in Panama City we got as taxi to our apartment block which even though we had our apartment there was 42 floors and each had three apartments on it they also had a joint reasonably sized swimming pool and gym. It took us 30 minutes to find the right building as the website said the wrong address and we had to check the emails they had sent us to find the right address. Within 10 minutes of entering the building we had looked around, dropped our stuff off, made a shopping list and got in the elevator and headed to the supermarket. That evening we pasta pesto and watched an episode of race across the world and went to bed.

The next day we walked to the panama sign along the sea front it was absolutely roasting and we had to cross two long red bridges. There lots of red bridges the whole way6 down so that pedestrians didn’t disturb the traffic below. On the way to the sign, we stopped at a playground. Sadly, most of the stuff was broken so we only got to use the swings and the hammock. After that we went to museo el canal. It told you all about the canal, the history of how it was made and the war against America and panama. It was very interesting but the best bit by far about it was that it had air con. After our history lesson we found lunch. After that we came home went to the pool, had dinner and watched race across the world.

Our next adventure didn’t start until the next afternoon as we had a lazy morning and went to the pool. In the afternoon we went to a nature reserve with four different rooms/sections. The first room was all about frogs and had real life frogs in it and lots of facts about a new virus killing frogs called chytrid pronounced kit-rid. My favourite wasn’t any of the rare frogs but a dad the mummy and baby on his back.

The next room was so fun because you could touch absolutely everything. I also used a micrometer to measure some skulls and bones. There was also a microscope that connected to a to screen so it was very clear at what you were looking at. My favourite was some grains of sand. There was also the beaks of toucans and the ribs of a whale.

The outdoor part of the aquarium was next. They had a small shark, starfish, sea urchins, turtles, sea cucumbers and a few random fish. But the best part was seeing sloths in the tress and we got really close to one of them. The indoor aquarium had a massive eel which was one of my favourites. They also had a fish that was killing everything in the Caribbean which is why people are trying to kill them so that there are still fish left. The name lion-fish.

That was the last room so we then headed into an Uber and went to the Miraflores locks. Unfortunately as soon as we got there it started chucking it down so we quickly rushed to the viewing point where there was a boat coming through at that moment it was absolutely massive. After the boat went through we went to see a 3d imax film with nachos and popcorn. It was so cool as I have never seen a 3d film before. It was all about how the canal was built and lasted about 40 minutes.

The best part and the day I had been looking forward too since my parents told me this morning were were going to meet an indigenous tribe. We were in a mini van but I thought it was just us turns out there was also 4 Canadian students with us. On the we picked up lots of fresh from a stall t9 take for lunch.  When we got there we were greeted by lots of dogs and two indigenous people who took us on a canoe for one and a half hours to our walking spot. The seats weren’t very comfy though. As soon as we were back on dry land we started our ‘hike’ to the waterfall they reward was great. And the water was really warm. On the ‘hike’ we had to walk through some water. Luckily we came prepared with our sandals but some people came in there sock and trainers. The walk was through the jungle and was very fun. Vines and trees everywhere with lots of insects and pools of water. On the way back in the canoe it was a lot quicker as we were going with the flow of the water instead of against it.

When we reached the embera village there was lots of men playing music one of them was even playing a turtle shell. It sounded very good. Lunch wasn’t as nice it was fried plantain which was okay and fish but the piece of fish we got given was tiny, had lots of bones in and wasn’t very tasty but for pudding I had the best pineapple I had ever had. Whilst we were eating it started to absolutely chuck it down so they had to do the dances and music inside. It was very good but I honesty thought they were going to break the floor. After that all the ladies got given headbands with real flowers in them.

When that was done the rain had cleared up and we went to the stalls where each family was selling something to help build there houses and the village. I got a necklace with a tooth on it. We all got very wet bums on the canoe back. Finally made into the minibus into town and back in the apartment.

More in bouquet, panama.
